Concrete Canvas, Chelmsford
I was commissioned to create this mural for the Concrete Canvas Festival in Chelmsford, located at The Courtyard, one of the town’s popular music venues.
The artwork depicts a young woman dancing freely and safely, celebrating the dancefloor as a space for joy, self-expression and connection. Painted in blues and purples, the mural references Chelmsford’s Purple Flag status, recognising the town’s commitment to a safe, vibrant and welcoming night-time economy.
At its heart, the piece is a reminder that dancefloors should be safe space/place where everyone can feel free to be themselves.
